Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was involved in a heated exchange with a protestor who insisted she comment on President Joe Biden’s recent speech, which has been criticized as “warmongering”.

Clinton, a Democrat, was participating in a panel at Columbia University’s event “Making Human Rights Come Alive: The UDHR at 75,” centered on the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

During Monday’s discussion, the audience member, identified as Robert Castle of the Schiller Institute think tank, disrupted the conversation.

Castle called on Clinton to publicly disapprove of Biden’s Thursday speech, which supported military funding for ongoing conflicts in both Israel and Ukraine.

“Can you please make a statement about President Joe Biden’s speech? This is a clearly warmongering speech,” Castle demanded.

“President Joe Biden is calling for $100 billion of funding for Israel, Taiwan and Ukraine, and we’re supposed to just bundle these together and pretend like we’re going to rush to World War III, and we’re all just gonna let Hillary Rodham Clinton sit here and —” the person continued before Clinton interjected.

“I’m sorry. You know, this is — this is not a way to have a conversation. You want to have a conversation, you are welcome to come talk to me afterwards,” the former U.S. Secretary of State replied.

The man responded saying he didn’t “believe” Clinton’s offer to discuss the topic later.

“The American people’s voices are what need to be heard. That’s my opinion,” he added.

“Well, then sit down. We’ve heard your opinion, thank you very much,” Clinton shot back.

The man said he was exercising his free speech.

“It’s not free speech when you’re disrupting everybody else’s opportunity to speak,” she replied.

Castle then began speaking about Eleanor Roosevelt and John Foster Dulles, eating away at Clinton’s patience.

She then tried to introduce Ugandan activist Frank Mugisha, “who’s actually on the front lines fighting for human rights, not just yelling about it.”

As Castle left the event, the crowd was heard applauding.
