Michigan’s Spectrum Health is going with common sense and granting exemptions from its vaccine mandate to employees who have naturally acquired immunity to Covid.
The Detroit News reports Spectrum Health announced they will grant an exemption to employees who:
-have a ‘positive PCR ‘or ‘antigen test’ for COVID-19
-plus a ‘positive antibody test’ from within the past three months
The exemption for employees was created “as new research has emerged”:
“While we still recommend vaccination for people with prior COVID-19 infection, according to this new research, there is increasing evidence that natural infection affords protection from COVID-19 reinfection and severe symptoms for a period of time. Current studies are not clear on how long natural immunity protects from reinfection.”
Spectrum Health could update the policy if evidence shows a change in immunity protection.
There are differing assessments of how long natural immunity lasts.

Sanjay Gupta asked Fauci why Americans who’ve previously been infected should get vaccinated despite studies showing it’s unnecessary. Dr. Fauci gave a shocking nonanswer that was a lame attempt to avoid the question.

Shocking! Dr. Fauci doesn’t have an answer? Isn’t he an expert on infectious diseases?
Could the answer be that natural immunity doesn’t make any money for the drug companies? It could also be that this is what happens when a scientist becomes a bureaucrat but still pretends to be a scientist decades later.
Gupta was referring to a study from Israel about natural immunity from COVID:
In Israel, vaccinated individuals had 27 times higher risk of symptomatic COVID infection compared to those with natural immunity from prior COVID disease [95%CI:13-57, adjusted for time of vaccine/disease]. No COVID deaths in either group.
