A coffee shop called Farley’s East in Oakland, California, has now fired three employees after they were caught on video participating in “anti-Semitic behavior” towards a Jewish customer.

On Monday, three baristas at Oakland’s Farley’s East coffee shop were fired after they were caught on film stopping a Jewish woman from entering the business’s bathroom.

Additionally, the coffee shop’s owners mentioned how they were aware of anti-Semitic graffiti that was written on the walls of their bathrooms for several months.

Farley’s East Coffee Shop made a statement regarding the situation.

“We condemn the genocide being committed against the people of Gaza, and we stand against the continuous displacement and oppression of the West Bank by the Israeli government,” their statement read. “We stand against racism and antisemitism in all its forms.”

The three baristas at the coffee shop had prevented a woman from entering the bathroom to take a photo of the anti-Semitic writings on the wall, which said: “Zionism = Fascism” and “your neutrality is enabling genocide.”

The Jewish customer was shocked after the employees repeatedly blocked her from attempting to enter the bathroom, telling her to “leave the private property.”

One employee reportedly said, “I know Israel loves taking private property and saying it’s their own, but we gotta head.”

The Jewish woman then responded in disbelief, saying, “You are not going to let me in the restroom?” when she was requested to leave once again by the employee who allegedly accused the woman of “misgendering a colleague.”

The altercation continued, as the Jewish woman referred to the anti-Semitic graffiti inside the bathroom, saying, “Why are you afraid that I will take a picture of it if you agree with it?”

Eventually, the staff ended up letting the woman walk into the restroom, where she recorded the handwritten anti-Semitic messages on a baby changing table and toilet mirror.

In the background of the woman’s video, you can hear one of the workers shout, “History didn’t start in 1948, lady,” referring to the year that the State of Israel was founded.

The Jewish woman then marched out of the restroom, as staff members yelled “Free Palestine” directly at her.

Ironically, the workers later claimed that the reason for their firing was due to the “unwillingness and refusal of both Farley’s East owners to protect their longtime staff after a right wing doxxing campaign targeted our fellow coworkers with violence and hatred.”

“When it became clear she would not leave until being allowed into the specific restroom with the graffiti, staff allowed her to enter. The customer did not use the restroom, but instead recorded the graffiti on her phone and then left immediately,” the workers statement read.

The captured video of the coffee shop workers blocking the Jewish woman from entering the bathroom, which was taken on December 3rd, has now gone viral on social media platforms.
