VIDEO: Billionaire Chamath Palihapitiya Praises Trump’s Tariffs on China, Blasts Global Elites for “Scare-Mongering”

Silicon Valley, CA — Billionaire investor and tech entrepreneur Chamath Palihapitiya is making waves after voicing strong support for former President Donald Trump’s tariffs on China, while taking aim at global elites and the mainstream media for attempting to distort the narrative.

Speaking during a recent interview, Palihapitiya praised Trump’s longstanding position on trade with China, saying, “For the last forty years, whether they want to admit it or not, Donald Trump has been right.”

He accused the global elite of trying to “scare-monger” Trump into reversing course on policies that challenge the established international order. “What you see right now is them violently trying to push back and trying to create a narrative,” Palihapitiya said, referring to efforts by some in the media and financial sectors to frame Trump’s moves as economic missteps.

The billionaire continued, “If you opened up the papers, there’s an entire wing of the media that is now trying to say that the president blinked.” He argued that this portrayal is part of a broader strategy by financial elites who seek to manipulate public sentiment through market-related fear tactics. “They want us to think that because they want to believe that they can talk about the stock market and then affect policy every five and ten minutes.”

Palihapitiya concluded by urging Americans to embrace the opportunity to reshape global dynamics: “We are in a unique moment in time where we have the ability to reset the global order, and we have to follow through.”

His remarks are a rare but growing example of high-profile voices in the business world siding with Trump’s tough-on-China stance, as tensions between the U.S. and China continue to escalate in trade, tech, and national security sectors.
