VIDEO: Homeland Security Vehicles Defaced, Tires Slashed Outside ICE Facility During Pro-Palestine Protest in D.C.

Tensions escalated outside an ICE facility in the nation’s capital today as pro-Palestine protesters rallied under the banner of the “March on ICE” movement, demanding the release of Mahmoud Khalil, a detainee reportedly held by federal immigration authorities.

According to officials, at least two Department of Homeland Security (DHS) vehicles were vandalized during the demonstration — one left with its tires slashed, the other spray-painted and defaced with anti-government slogans and pro-Palestinian symbols.

The protest drew a sizable crowd outside the D.C. ICE facility, with activists chanting “Free Mahmoud Khalil” and calling the Biden-era immigration system a tool of oppression, even under the new Trump administration.

Who Is Mahmoud Khalil?

Khalil’s case has become a rallying cry for pro-Palestine activists across the country. Protest organizers claim he is being detained over visa violations, but argue that the real reason is his vocal activism against Israeli military actions in Gaza.

Federal authorities have not publicly released details about Khalil’s immigration status, citing privacy regulations.

Political Fallout

The demonstration — and the alleged vandalism of federal property — is expected to spark further debate over the intersection of immigration enforcement and political activism. Supporters of tougher border and detention policies have condemned the protest, calling it an example of “lawlessness emboldened by activist narratives.”

Meanwhile, progressive groups online are already praising the protest, claiming it’s a necessary stand against what they describe as a crackdown on immigrant voices.

As of now, no injuries have been reported, but D.C. police remain on high alert in anticipation of more protests in the coming days.
