VIDEO: Rep. Jasmine Crockett Cries on MSNBC After Comparing President Trump to MS-13 Gang Members

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) broke down in tears during an MSNBC interview Saturday after claiming President Donald Trump was a bigger “criminal” than MS-13 gang members — a comment that has sparked outrage among conservatives.

Crockett, a staunch defender of President Biden, made the claim while appearing on The Katie Phang Show. Just moments after comparing the 45th President of the United States to violent criminals, Crockett became so emotional that she struggled to speak.

Host Katie Phang thanked the congresswoman for her “support for democracy” before playing a clip of Crockett’s first appearance on the show three years ago — a sentimental gesture that appeared to trigger the tears.

“That was you and I three years ago. That was your first time on The Katie Phang Show. This is the second-to-last episode of the show,” Phang said. “I wanted to thank you for always getting up early and delivering it.”

As the footage rolled, Crockett wiped tears from her face, overwhelmed with emotion. She later acknowledged the moment on Instagram, writing: “Um I’ve never cried during an actual hit. Um some of you saw me cry during the DNC. And this morning was a second to last show for Katie Fang…”

Crockett’s attack on President Trump — comparing him to MS-13, a notoriously violent criminal gang — has been widely condemned by supporters of the former president, who point out Trump’s strong record on fighting illegal immigration and transnational gangs like MS-13 during his time in office.

Critics say her remarks underscore the kind of extreme rhetoric Democrats are resorting to as Trump continues to dominate in polls ahead of the 2024 election. Despite efforts to demonize him, Trump remains focused on restoring law and order, securing the border, and putting Americans first — principles that earned him the presidency and continue to fuel his movement.
