VIDEO: Tim Walz’s Daughter Sparks Controversy by Comparing Alleged MS-13 Member to Jesus

Hope Walz, daughter of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, has ignited controversy with remarks comparing Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 gang member, to Jesus Christ. In a recent statement, she suggested that former President Donald Trump would have deported Jesus, implying that Trump’s immigration policies lack compassion.

“I believe in the good of people and like humanity, humans you know deep down at our core like we care about each other but that’s really being tested,” Hope Walz stated, expressing her concerns about the current state of humanity and empathy.

The comments have drawn sharp criticism from supporters of President Trump, who view the comparison as inappropriate and disrespectful. They argue that equating a figure revered in Christianity with an individual accused of gang affiliation undermines the seriousness of criminal allegations and the importance of national security.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national, was deported from the United States in March 2025. While some officials have labeled him as an MS-13 member, his legal team disputes these claims, and no criminal charges have been filed against him in the U.S. The deportation has become a focal point in debates over immigration enforcement and due process.

The Trump administration has maintained a firm stance on immigration, emphasizing the removal of individuals deemed threats to public safety. Supporters argue that such policies are essential for maintaining law and order, while critics contend they can lead to unjust outcomes.

As the debate continues, Hope Walz’s comments have added fuel to the ongoing discourse surrounding immigration, justice, and the role of empathy in policymaking.
