An intruder was arrested twice in one day after attempting to break into Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Los Angeles home, which he shares with his wife, actress Cheryl Hines.

On Wednesday, the man was arrested after he was caught trying to break into RFK Jr.’s Brentwood home. However, he later returned after his release from custody and was arrested again for the second time.
Kennedy, who is running in the 2024 presidential campaign as an Independent candidate, lives in Los Angeles with his wife. The couple was reportedly relaxing at the residence during both incidents.
Kennedy’s presidential campaign announced that the initial occurrence was reported at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday after the man attempted to climb a fence and requested to meet with the candidate.
The intruder reached the second floor of the Los Angeles home, before being arrested by Kennedy’s private security team, which includes Gavin de Becker and Associates.
The intruder was then sent to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) .
After being released from the police department the first time, the man attempted to enter Kennedy’s property for the second time at around 5:45 p.m., asking to see him again. The intruder was then detained for a second time.
Additionally, the campaign mentioned that Kennedy’s security team “notified the Secret Service about this specific obsessed individual several times in recent months and shared alarming communications he has sent to the candidate.”
Authorities said that the man attempted to break into the presidential candidate’s home despite a restraining order that has been previously placed against him.
Kennedy, who entered the presidential race in April, has been sending formal requests for Secret Service protection for several months. However, his approval was “refused” by the Department of Homeland Security, according to his campaign. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) also made recent comments urging that Kennedy’s security request be approved.
As a result of Wednesday’s incident, a representative for the Kennedy campaign wrote to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, again, asserting that the Independent candidate needs Secret Service protection.
Additionally, the letter reported a number of occurrences in which candidates were given Secret Service protection months prior to Election Day.
Wednesday’s occurrence follows a declaration made by Gavin de Becker and Associates, in which it was stated that a “mentally ill intruder” with a “history of delusional ideation regarding the candidate” was detained at Kennedy’s residence in July while he was out of town.
Kennedy’s security firm also reported that the same man had made a comparable attempt only a year ago.
In September, another incident occurred at Kennedy’s residence.
An armed man who was accused of “impersonating a United States Marshal” was sent into custody at the Kennedy campaign event in Los Angeles. The man was later identified as 44-year-old Adrian Paul Aispuro, who was fined with possession of a loaded firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and for impersonating an officer.”
