CNN is reporting tonight that Ukrainian officials are shocked over Biden’s comments today regarding Putin’s potential invasion of their country and they are very displeased:
CNN’s senior international correspondent said:
TO SAY THEY WERE DISPLEASED WHEN THEY HEARD THOSE COMMENTS WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT. ONE OF THE OFFICIALS I SPOKE TO SAID THAT HE WAS SHOCKED WHEN HE HEARD PRESIDENT BIDEN DRAW A DISTINCTION BETWEEN AN INCURSION AND AN INVASION. AND TO SUGGEST THAT IF THERE WAS SOME KIND OF MINOR INCURSION INTO UKRAINIAN TERRITORY, THEN THAT WOULD BE TREATED DIFFERENTLY AND ILLICIT LESSER SANCTIONS THAN A MAJOR INVASION.
IT’S NOT THE KIND OF NUANCE WE’VE HEARD BEFORE. IT’S CERTAINLY SOMETHING UKRAINIAN OFFICIALS SAY THEY’VE NEVER HEARD SPELLED OUT TO THEM. THOUGH I UNDERSTAND IT’S THAT KIND OF SLIDING SCALE OF SANCTIONS, DEPENDING ON THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE RUSSIAN ACTION BEING DISCUSSED PRIVATELY.
While other countries like Germany are drawing red lines over Russia’s potential invasion of Ukraine, Biden is giving it the green light as long as it’s not too serious.
It’s amazing. The media and Democrats always claimed that Trump was doing Putin’s bidding. But Biden has been doing it THE ENTIRE TIME he’s been president – and before – and they never say anything like that about him.
