Rubio Reveals Which Republican Can Beat Trump If He Runs In 2024

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio says if Donald Trump runs for president again in 2024, there is not a single person who could beat the 45th president in the Republican primary.

During an interview on Newsmax, Rubio called Trump “the most popular and most influential Republican in America.”

“I think he’ll still be that in ’22 and ’24, and if decides to run for the president and the nomination, he’s going to be the party’s nominee,” Rubio told Newsmax host Greg Kelly. “That’s the way I see it.

“He hasn’t made that decision. It’s still a long way down the road, but if Donald Trump decides to run in 2024 again, he’s going to be the Republican nominee, and I think almost everyone that I’ve talked to would agree with that,” he added.

Trump endorsed Rubio ahead of his 2022 re-election bid, giving him an extra boost in an election that he is already favored to win.

“We worked very well together with the Trump White House and the president,” Rubio said. “We did a lot of positive things together, a very productive time and a very good working relationship.”

“And, plus, this is one of the things we don’t pick up on: This is an extra special endorsement because he’s a resident and voter in Florida. So, I don’t just need his endorsement, I need his vote and the votes of all his family who are also moving to Florida,” he said.

It may be nearly four years until the 2024 presidential election, but political handicappers are already sizing up the field for the Republican Party.

If Trump runs again, there’s no doubt the party is behind him and he would win the nomination.

According to a Washington Times/CPAC poll, Trump is the overwhelming favorite to win the 2024 GOP nomination.

The poll found that over 95% of respondents approved of the job that Trump did as president.

More than two-thirds of respondents said that they wanted Trump to run again, while 15% said they did not, and 17% were unsure.

A staggering 95% of respondents want the GOP to continue pursuing the policies of Trump.

If Trump were to run for president again, 55% of respondents said they would vote for him, followed by 21% for Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis, and 4% for South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.

If Trump is not on the ticket in 2024, a whopping 43% of respondents said that they would vote for DeSantis, followed by 11% for Noem.

Here are the findings from the straw poll, via Daily Wire:

When it comes to former President Donald Trump’s issue agenda and policies, which of the following comes closest to your personal opinion?

  2. Republicans should change direction and move away from Donald Trump’s issue agenda and policies – 3%
  3. Unsure – 2%

Would you like to see Donald Trump run for president again in 2024?

  1. Yes – 68%
  2. No – 15%
  3. Unsure – 17%

Thinking ahead, if the 2024 Republican primary for president in your state were held today among the following candidates, for whom would you vote?

  1. Donald Trump – 55%
  2. Ron DeSantis – 21%
  3. Kristi Noem – 4%
  4. Nikki Haley – 3%
  5. Mike Pompeo – 2%

Now among a different list of candidates, which does not include Trump, if the 2024 Republican primary for president in your state were held today, for whom would you vote?

  1. Ron DeSantis – 43%
  2. Kristi Noem – 11%
