Former Republican state senator Ray Holmberg sentenced to 10 years in prison for traveling to Europe over a dozen times to r*pe young boys.
The North Dakota man previously pleaded guilty to traveling with the intent of engaging in illicit s*xual activity.
Prosecutors say the once-powerful lawmaker traveled 14 times from 2011-2021 to Prague and Czech Republic to pay for s*x with young boys.
Holmberg allegedly met up with the boys, who posed as masseuses, at brothels. The pervert also allegedly would abuse his position in politics in exchange for s*xual favors.
Holmberg brought a University of North Dakota student to the school’s president’s suite for hockey games with the intention of engaging in s*x.
He is also accused of posing as a teen boy in 2012 in an online circumcision chat room to get pictures of children, including a 16-year-old Canadian boy.
The boy later took his own life. Holmberg served for 45 years in the North Dakota Senate and didn’t resign until 2022.
